Chelsea and Spain international Fernando Torres says Cesc Fabregas would be a perfect addition to Mourinho’s team, with the midfielder set to leave Barcelona this summer.

Reports suggest that Manchester City are also preparing a bid for Fabregas, thought to be around £30m, and Arsenal are also said to be interested.

Manchester United were linked with the Barca man back in January but Torres feels he would thrive under life at Stamford Bridge.

The Chelsea striker told Movistar: “Big players are always good signings. We know Cesc, he knows the division and was always among the top players when he was at Arsenal,”

“He likes to play good football and will offer ball control, cutting edge, goals. If he’s made to feel important, like a leader – like when he was at Arsenal – he can drive the team on and he’s a type of player Chelsea don’t have right now.”

Barcelona and Spain team-mate Gerard Pique claims that the deal is already done and Torres thinks he is not fully appreciated by the Spainsh giants.

“Cesc is such a great player and he simply is not being valued at his level in Barca,” he added.”In any other team he would be fundamental a regular starter. So it is a difficult situation for him, but he will resolve it and I hope he does so by remaining in Barcelona.”
